Foreign Investment Strengthens the Capital Structure of PT Margautama Nusantara

Cap Asia, a fund management firm specializing in infrastructure investment in Southeast Asia, today announced its equity investment into toll road operator, PT Margautama Nusantara (MUN), a subsidiary of PT Nusantara Infrastructure Tbk.
This foreign investment into MUN reaffirms the fact that over the last two years, there is an increase in foreign interest to invest in Indonesia. According to data released by the investment Coordinating Board (BKPM), there is a clear indication that posted new records in foreign investment, which increased 27.2% in the first quarter of this year as compared to the same quarter last year, the impetus being driven by significant growth of the Indonesian middle class. "The swift flow of this investment will be able to spur the growth of domestic investment," said Chairman of BKPM, Dr. M. Chatib Basri, during the signing of agreements between Cap Asia and MUN.
Dr. M. Chatib Basri sees these cooperations between Cap Asia and MUN as an important milestone for the development of foreign investments into the infrastructure sector in this country, the first of its kind in Indonesia in 2013.
Cap Asia's investment will strengthen the capital of MUN, and the synergies of both parties will lead to an optimized performance and improved results of the company. The signing ceremony was held today at the Ritz Carlton Pacific Place Hotel in Jakarta, with Mr. Dhanni Hassan, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) MUN, and Dr. Johan Bastin, CEO of Cap Asia. "Recognizes MUN's capability in management, corporate culture and track record," said Dr. Johan Bastin, CEO of Cap Asia. "Therefore, our support of MUN will undoubtedly bring benefit to Indonesia's economic growth and be an example of the government’s commitment to support the private sector's role in building infrastructure".
The Investment funds will originate from the Islamic Infrastructure Fund LP (IIF) managed by Cap Asia, And MUN will be automatically included into Cap Asia's infrastructure portfolio, which also comprises of projects in Malaysia and Thailand.
MUN sees this partnership as a fulfilment of its commitment to support towards infrastructure development, particularly in the toll road sector. "This in accordance with NI vision to be a private investment company and leading developer in the infrastructure sector in Indonesia," said Danni Hasan, "This collaboration will also improve our efficiency, and provide a positive impact on the current development of other sectors".
