BMN-JTSE Participating in Waste Bank Program in Makassar: Reducing Waste, Increasing Income

Makassar, January 20, 2015 - PT Bosowa Marga Nusantara (BMN) and PT Jalan Tol Seksi Empat (JTSE) realized the importance of maintaining the stability of the conservation of nature and environment, especially around Makassar toll road, which is adjacent to residential areas. BMN and JTSE also participated in Waste Bank program building in Makassar. This program is one of the Company's efforts to urge people to reduce waste and increase their revenue.

Waste Bank is a concept of collecting and sorting of dry waste. This bank has management as conventional banking, but customers save garbage, not money. This garbage is weighed and rewarded with a value of money. Each customer has a passbook and can borrow money. The loan is returned in the form of waste for money borrowed.

BMN-JTSE management initiated that RW 03 of Pannampu Village, Tallo District, which consists of 300 heads of families, as the first location point of Waste Bank. Together with Yayasan Peduli Negeri in Makassar, the management teach the people how to sort the waste and raising public awareness on waste management wisely, so they do not throw the garbage in toll roads, rivers, and waterways area.

The participation of BMN-JTSE management in Waste Bank program also as a form of their positive support to government program called "Makassar Green and Clean". As a mutually supportive program, Vice Mayor of Makassar Syamsu Rizal, MI visiting the bank which has been operating, as a form of support to motivate the people.
