The objectives of this strategic partner joint collaboration is to enhance the company values in transforming the potential growth in infrastructure development sectors, especially in tollways, water utility, telecommunication tower, energy, and seaport management, in which PT Nusantara Infrastructure Tbk has been actively involved.
Muhammad Ramdani Basri, Chief Executive Officer stated,”we have gained the trust from the strategic partner, to jointly develop and accelerate the infrastructure growth in Indonesia through this investment partnership. Nusantara Infrastructure is aware on the importance of private sector participation in infrastructure development, thus the company has decided to seek for a new breakthrough by introducing a business model which is capable of attracting strategic partner, especially foreign investor.” Ramdani further added, this action is part of Nusantara Infrastructure commitment as the private sector, which actively contributes in accelerating the infrastructure development in Indonesia, without relying on State Budget.
Since 2013, Nusantara Infrastructure has successfully gained the trust of various foreign strategic partners in its business operations. Through this commitment, it is expected to strengthen the company market position, as well as accelerate the pace of company business growth, especially in toll roads. As we all know, the government consistently attempts to improve infrastructure development. This is particularly evident in the budget of infrastructure funding in 2015-2019 National Midterm Development Plan (RPJMN) with total budget allocated at Rp 6,780 trillion. Meanwhile, the Ministry of National Development Planning (Bappenas) estimated that the State Budget can only cover a maximum of Rp 1,000 trillion for infrastructure development funds, while Regional Budget can only cover a maximum of Rp 500 trillion. Other parties such as private sector, banking sector, Insurance and Pension Fund, as well as other infrastructure financing institutions can only cover Rp 210 trillion, Rp 500 trillion, Rp 60 trillion, and Rp 500 trillion successively. Therefore, there is a financial gap of Rp 4,000 trillion which is needed from other source of financing in order to accelerate the infrastructure development in Indonesia.
Deden Rochmawaty, the General Manager and Corporate Affairs stated, “Nusantara Infrastructure has successfully carried out a number of business innovation in various business lines. This Investment Partnership, is one of investment strategies implemented by the Company in order to create the potential of revenue growth and profitability in the future and will strengthen the company financial position to engage in its various business expansions.” Deden further added, that this is the real evidence where the Company implement the strategies to create viable business opportunities which may gain the trust of strategic partners both locally and internationally.
Since it established these times, Nusantara Infrastructure has invited various strategic partners in expanding the business such as Cap Asia, Providence Equity, as well as Nexco and Jexway which is one of the leading tollway operators in Japan. And now, the Company has once again gained the trust from international strategic partner by demonstrating the performance and Company’s positive outlook to further strengthen its business way into the future, especially in developing infrastructure in Indonesia.
