The program was dedicated to support the government’s program named "1 Billion Trees". The first phase has been conducted in March 2013. While the planting symbolic in the next phase today was done by Forestry Minister Zulkifli Hasan and South Tangerang Mayor Airin Rachmi Diany.

Deden Rochmawati, General Manager of Corporate Affairs of NI, appreciates the South Tangerang City Government that provides land for tree planting site. On this occasion, NI -through Nusantara Care- was conducted as a land provider and also supporter of South Tangerang City Government’s program.

The trees planting on the toll road will add a sense of comfort for road users by providing green and beautiful scenery. Moreover, it will reduce the effects of noise pollution of the highway for local residents. The other benefits, it will strengthen the structure of the soil to prevent erosion, and the roots can also bind the water that is useful for water backup purpose for local residents.

Deden said that NI is committed to continuously improve the toll roads services. On the Pondok Aren-Serpong toll road (BSD Toll), for example, NI allocated funds up to Rp 52 billion for improvement of the service in 2013. A total of Rp 34 billion of which is for road repairs, Rp 8 billion for repairs and the other roads complementaries, and the rest for complete the previous work targets.

Joko Santoso, Chief Operating Officer of PT Margautama Nusantara (MUN), a subsidiary company of NI that manages BSD toll, added that NI continues to increase in services despite the current BSD toll services already meet the minimum service standards (Standar Pelayanan Minimum - SPM).

To continue improving the highway service, Nusantara Infrastructure applies three foundations: in terms of operational, servicing, and maintenance. Even MUN is preparing to obtain certification of the quality management system ISO 9001: 2008 and OHSAS 18000. ISO 9001: 2008 is the international standard used to establish the policy and quality objectives and its achievements that can be applied in any type of organization/company.

Currently the number of vehicles passing through the BSD toll gate approximately 80,000 units per day. Compared to last year, the increase in amount of vehicle traffic reaches 10%-12%. "Planting trees becomes important as the increasing of BSD toll road users, so the convenience of toll users is maintained," said Joko.
