Anwar Toha, Managing Director of PT Makassar Metro Network (MMN) and PT Jalan Tol Section Empat (JTSE) said, "We always try to provide the best service by providing facilities through creative innovations that will make it easier for road users to transact. As we are doing now by providing UNIK top up facilities through the Whatsapp Application ". Anwar added, this system was the first service applied on the toll road and the Makassar Toll Road became the first BUJT (Toll Road Business Entity) to provide this facility. Toll road users who have run out of balance need not to worry because of its fast and practical way, they can easily refill toll cards wherever and whenever.
The Makassar Toll Management previously has provided card filling services at the toll gates and top up service posts scattered at the toll booths. However, in the midst of the current Corona Virus (Covid 19) pandemic, the payment by cash transactions are one source of transmission for the Covid-19 virus. To prevent the spread of Covid-19, this is one of the effort and also to improve services to road users, Makassar Toll Management provides a solution by providing UNIK charging services through a non-cash or cashless payment system in a fast, safe, convenient, easy and efficient way.
To refill UNIK is by using the facility of "Top Up Whatsapp" which can be done personally without requiring the help of officers, thus supporting the government's suggestion to conduct social distancing at the time. This facility can be used by all IOS and Android users. Makassar Toll Management collaborates with various banking partners namely Bank Mandiri and Bank BNI to facilitate toll users in their transactions. Especially for BRI Bank and BCA Bank, the top up service through the WhatsApp application will start in August 2020. UNIK top-up via WhatsApp currently can only be done for E-Money and Tapcash cards. Road users who want to top up the UNIK card via the WhatsApp Application can follow these easy steps:
