Waste Bank Inauguration in Makassar Toll Road
Through Waste Bank, no more bad habits of littering. Healthy environment, welfare increases.
Finally, the dream of the residents of RW 03 of Pannampu, Tallo, Makassar, was realized, i.e. to live in a clean, comfortable, and green environment. On April 28, 2015, Deputy Mayor of Makassar Syamsu Rizal inaugurated the program named “Kampung Hijau Nusantara Bank Sampah Kebun Raya RW 3 Pannampu Kecamatan Tallo” on the edge-side of toll road managed by PT Bosowa Marga Nusantara (BMN) and PT Jalan Tol Seksi Empat (JTSE).
The inauguration was marked with a ribbon cutting by Syamsu Rizal, followed by the plaque signing. This event was also attended by the village chief of Tallo, and representatives from Yayasan Unilever Indonesia (YUI).
This RW 03 was chosen as the first location of Waste Bank initiated by the management of BMN and JTSE. To realize this program, people ware assisted and supported by Yayasan Peduli Negeri (YPN) and YUI. A total of 300 heads of families have joined and actively participated in the program. People were taught in sorting and processing the garbage wisely, so they do not throwing garbage in the toll road area, rivers, and waterways anymore.
Waste Bank program is one of the Company's efforts to engage the society in protecting the environment to stay clean and comfortable, especially environment of residential area around the toll road.
