South Tangerang, June 24th 2022 – PT Bintaro Serpong Damai (BSD), a subsidiary of PT Margautama Nusantara (MUN), which is also the operator of the Pondok Aren-Serpong Toll Road, has undergone an evaluation of tariff adjustments carried out every two (2) years by the Ministry of Public Works and Housing (PUPR) based on the Indonesia Toll Road Authority (BPJT) (BPJT) recommendation. Referring to the Decree of the Minister of Public Works and Housing (PUPR) Number 569/KPTS/M/2022 regarding the tariff adjustment of the Pondok Aren-Serpong, it has been determined that starting July 17, 2022, there will be no change in tariffs (fixed rates) for this section.
Purwoto, President Director of PT Bintaro Serpong Damai (BSD) explained, "We have undergone regular assessments and evaluations from the Indonesia Toll Road Authority (BPJT), which are conducted every two (2) years regarding the fulfillment of all Minimum Service Standards (SPM). The tariff adjustment policy for the BSD Toll Road was delayed for about 6 months, and the tariff paid for the Pondok Aren-Serpong Toll Road can be considered competitive because the tariff for the section is below Rp1,000 per kilometer. Purwoto added, "In addition to fulfilling the SPM, tariff adjustments are also calculated based on the Tangerang City inflation rate for the last 2 years issued by the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), which is 2.46%. Based on the results of the evaluation and assessment of the tariff adjustment, it has been determined that starting July 17, 2022, there will be no change in tariffs (fixed rates) for the Sepong-Pondok Aren Toll Road Section.
Although there is no change in tariffs for the Sepong-Pondok Aren Toll Road, the BSD Toll Management continues to carry out various activities to fulfill SPM as a form of service improvement to provide comfort and safety for road users. One of them is beautification at several points of the Road-Owned Area (DAMIJA), including planting Bougenville trees and maintenance around the KM 6+500 - 6+300 A/B area on the Pondok Aren – Serpong Toll Road. In addition, the activities of painting the kanstin and bullnose areas at the Pondok Aren Toll Gate 1 and 2, reforestation in the off-ramp area of the Pondok Aren GT, and cleaning drainage and repairing signs.
As a form of the Company's contribution to support the development of road infrastructure in the South Tangerang Region, currently working on a flood management project at KM 08+00 and a weaving project at KM 7-11. This project aims to deal with flooding problems in the Pondok Aren–Serpong Toll Road, especially during high rainfall intensity. The two projects will be completed in the second quarter of 2023. The BSD Toll Management has conducted a number of socialization and education related to this tariff adjustment through the Company's social media, held a Forum Group Discussion (FGD) by inviting various relevant stakeholders, installing banners and Variable Message Signs (VMS) and distribution of press news to the mass media. The aim is to provide understanding to all parties that the results of the tariff adjustment policy are not always about increasing tariffs, but can also be related to setting new tariffs, reducing tariffs and even fixed tariffs or tariffs that have not changed as happened on the Pondok Aren-Sepong Toll Road.
The toll road is a long-term investment in cooperation between the government, the community, and business entities to build regional infrastructure. Toll tariffs are based on several considerations, including concessions, investment value, and nationally applicable traffic volume. The toll tariffs paid by road users will be used for various toll road operations and maintenance.
The current tariffs that apply to the Pondok Aren–Serpong Toll Road as of July 17, 2022, are as follows:
