The Progress of the National Strategic Project of Toll Access Road Makassar New Port (MNP) Reached 73.03%

Makassar, Juli 12th 2023 - One of the government’s national strategic projects to create connectivity in the Eastern Region of Indonesia is using the construction of Toll Access Road Makassar New Port (MNP) on 3.2 km by the subsidiary of PT Nusantara Infrastructure Tbk in the toll road sector. Currently, the construction project progress has reached 73.03% per 10 July 2023 which is entering the completion of erection box girder with shoring method.
Ismail Malliungan, the President Director of PT Makassar Metro Network (MMN) mentioned, “The construction progress has entered the stage of completion of different work structures. Further, there will be LRB (Lead Rubber Bearing) installation, paving and ramp at-grade relocation works”.
The construction of the MNP Toll Access Road will facilitate logistics mobilization while boosting economic growth in Makassar City. This project will be connected from Makassar Reformation Toll (JTSE Toll) to Makassar Container Port of New Port and from Makassar Industrial Complex (Kima) toward Makassar Container Port of New Port. The presence of this toll road is also expected to be able to expedite export and import paths through the port connecting Makassar and other cities in South Sulawesi and the provinces around it. In addition, this project is also expected to be a solution in unraveling the congestion of cargo and logistics transport with direct access from and to MNP. Therefore, the existence of the MNP Toll will support the operation of Makassar New Port.
The construction project of MNP Toll Access Road will be implemented in three stages. The first stage is from the old port direction (Toll Road Section 1) to MNP. Meanwhile, the second stage construction will be made from the Airport direction (Makassar Toll Road Section IV) to MNP. The first and second stages will be executed concurrently, while the third stage from MNP to Airport will be executed in the following stage. The toll road access to Makassar New Port is a National Strategic Project (PSN) of the central government development to be implemented by the Ministry of Public Works and Housings (PUPR) through Toll Road Business Entities. As for land acquisition for this project, it will be performed by PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (Pelindo).
