"We provide support worth IDR 50 million directly to the community in Lau Gunung, Pamah Village, Tanah Pinem District, Dairi Regency, North Sumatra so that it could be used to renovate the Jambur in the village”.
This support is one of the Company’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) in the environmental and community pillars, also as a form of synergy of IME and the local community to support community welfare and the Company’s business continuity.
"The renovated Jambur can later be used by the community to support various social, educational, health and other activities according to their needs." Hartawan said.
Jambur, also known as Losd, is a spacious building that is used as a multifunctional room by Karo’s local community for events, whether it be weddings, funerals, customs, religious activities or perpulungen (gathering or discussion) especially when the harvest season starts (merdang merdem).
Before the existence of the Jamber, weddings or any other community events were held at a field. Realizing the importance of a building that could be used as a gathering place for a large number of people, the village predecessors began to build comfortable permanent buildings so that they could be used by the community to hold various important activities or events.
