Indah D.P. Pertiwi as Head of Corporate Communication & CSR PT Nusantara Infrastructure stated "It is an honor to represent the company in receiving the Award. This event will be a motivation for PR people and specially Nusantara Infrastructure to continue carrying out sustainability activities around the operational area by maximizing the role of PR itself”.
Kampung Bersih Nusantara program is the Company's ongoing CSR program to answer environmental hygiene problems around the Makassar Toll Road, specifically in Pannampu Village, which is related to the problem of illegal waste disposal. Prior to the existence of this program, the community had a habit of throwing garbage into Tallo Toll Area, that causing accumulation of waste in the area (toll road).
Besides environmental issues, this program which involves community does not only look at environmental hygiene, the company also involves the development of community groups (community development), so that the community gets additional economic value from this program. The community receives education about hygiene and health as well as socialization regarding economic development by making goods that can be resold to become additional family income.
A little additional information, the community of RW 003 Pannampu Village, Tallo District, Makassar City is a densely populated area and includes areas where the community does not have proper waste management sites. Household waste that is generated every day is only placed in the yard inside a plastic container that is not watertight and without a cover, that causing an unpleasant odor. With this program, it is hoped that integrated waste management and cleaning of hallways can help the community overcome this problem.
"In the future, Kampung Bersih Nusantara will not only focus on managing and maximizing the waste bank, as an act of sustainability, the company plans to also develop from a health, education and community development perspective," added Indah DP Pertiwi.
This award was followed by various corporations, organizations, and government institutions from various industries. After a long judging process, PT Nusantara Infrastructure Tbk was selected from 500 companies participating in the competition. This award is a form of appreciation for the performance of Public Relations in the corporate world throughout 2022. This should be a motivation in continue to innovate in creating, sharing, and moving to provide social impact on society in order to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
