A Discussion on the Necessity of Infrastructure Bank

Minister of Finance Bambang P.S. Brodjonegoro conveyed that Indonesia needs to have an infrastructure bank as a source of funds for infrastructure development to support the development of national economy. The gap of funding source for infrastructure financing requires solutions, such as involving the private sector.
Although national banks already participating in lending for infrastructure development, the total credits for infrastructure is still limited, about 16.8% of the overall bank credit, valued at Rp 244.8 trillion.
