South Korea's Daecheong Construction Co. Ltd plans to develop several infrastructure projects in the Indonesian province of North Sumatra, including a 16-km (10-mile) toll road that will require investment of around $150 million.
The toll road will connect Medan to Binjai, Sung-Chur Park, an adviser at Daecheong, told reporters on Thursday on the sidelines of an infrastructure conference in Jakarta.
"We will start the feasibility study in mid-May and expect the ground-breaking to be in January next year," said Park, adding the toll road was expected to be completed within a year.
Park said the other projects would include a hydropower plant with capacity of around 16 megawatt. He said Daecheong would team up with the local government's state enterprises for these projects.
