Boediono: Govt can only pay 30% of development acceleration fund
The Jakarta Post, Jakarta - 12/04/2011
Vice President Boediono said the government could only pay 30 percent out of the slated Rp 3,000 trillion (US$348 billion) development acceleration fund, with the rest needing contribution from the private sector.
“The government is very serious in supporting business investment in the infrastructure sector…” he said at the 2011 Indonesia International Infrastructure Conference and Exhibition (IIICE), on Tuesday in Jakarta, as quoted by kompas.com.
Infrastructure development is a crucial factor in Indonesia reaching its targeted 7 to 8 percent economic growth, Boediono said.
He said Indonesia’s mid-range and long-term plans needed to be consistent if it hoped for infrastructure to improve quickly.
Boediono said the government had promised to improve regulations deemed unfavorable to infrastructure development.
“We will try [to improve regulations] that are overlapping and unfriendly,” he said.
