World Blood Donation Day 2012
Jakarta & Makassar, 8 June & 14 June 2012
World Blood Donation Day is celebrated on 14 June every year. On this day, countries worldwide organize events to raise awareness of the need for safe blood and blood products and to pay homage to each person who donate some of his/her blood to another person to save a life.
In observance of the Day, Nusantara Infrastructure through its Nusantara Care program held a blood donation activity in Jakarta and Makassar in conjunction with the Indonesian Red Cross (PMI) Tangerang and Makassar City. The event was conducted on 8 June (Jakarta) and 14 June (Makassar). More than 100 voluntary blood donors attended the activity.
We hope the event will encourage more people to donate blood voluntarily and regularly. By donating blood one can not only help others but also lead a healthy life.
